2012 Premiers – Jeffrey Garlett

6 Jun

So – there’s been a few setbacks so far this year on our road to the Premiership cup … but of course – that all serves to make the success all the sweeter … this Friday we’ll be doing away with the reigning premiers – the Geelong CATS.

Actually – I should ‘fess up – I did a few drawings recently of about three players … who all then got injured … I’m starting to feel this project of mine has some strange voodoo curse on it … let’s see if Garlett kicks 5 sneaky goals this week – then I am thankfully wrong about this idea: GO JEFFY!!!!

This little quick-dude is from WA … apparently he used to live in a car before being drafted by the Blues … and now he’s a superstar!! so … damn … quick!

Round #10 Ed Curnow the clearance Dude with the hair

31 May

Port Adelaide got it coming this Saturday!!!!!!

Live Moonah recording

25 May

This is a live recording from Drive West Today performing his Acousmatic Ecology series in Moonah in early May 2012.

Later in the year DWT will be touring Acousmatic Ecology the mainland of Australia – look out Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane.

Carlton Blues – Round #9 Lachlan Henderson

24 May

Other pics in the series.

Lachie Henderson came to the Blues in the famous trade of Brendan Fevola … I totally rate this guy, he always seems so composed and he seems to be growing and growing … so consistent whether the team is playing poorly or kicking arse. Stepped into the breach last year for Jamo and seemed to make the transition to backman sooooo beautifully, the other week when we lost against Adelaide he was swung back up forward and seemed to make a decent impact in that position with seeming ease … Here’s a pic of him leaving the forwards in his wake!!!

This week we play the mighty Demons … who are not looking quite so mighty, but I suspect that at some point they will rally and surprise us all.

2012 Premiership cup – here we come!!! Chris Yarran! Round #8

17 May

I was going to put Chris Yarran here in Round#5 for his 50th game then … but he buggered his toe on his 49th game and didn’t play against Freo.
It is Jarrad Waite’s 150th possibly … but he might not actually play so I put Yazz here because he was a certainty (as far as Ratts was saying)
So here he is in all his glory!!

Carlton Blues 2012 Premiers Round #7 Marc Murphy

10 May

For other pictures in the series – go here

I’ve had a headache these last few weeks with my own little dream-team competition. Drawing one a week has turned problematic with injuries … Yarran was supposed to have reached 50 games last week so I drew him, but he turned out injured and Waite was supposed to reach 150 games this week but he was rested so he should reach that next week … and if Yarran comes in next week they will BOTH reach that milestone on the same week and only one of them gets their picture – yes that Carlton team is pretty tight for spots in the weekly picture!! I feel like Brett Ratten trying to choose the team here. Injuries cause selection headaches …

Same headache last week with Eddie Betts reaching 150 and Shaun Hampson reaching 50 games I had to select Eddie … but Shaun will have his day in the light – he’s having a scorcher of a season so far and will only get better by the looks of him.

SO – here’s ol’ faithful – 2011’s best and fairest at the club – the midfield general !!!!!

No longer Judd’s right-hand man … he’s become a great unto himself – but completely team oriented!

Moonah Arts Centre

4 May

Looking forward to playing some more of the Acousmatic Series of music at this event tomorrow night.
Thanks to Andrew Harper for organising this one in my home suburb!!
SEE YOU FROM 6pm!

Eddie Betts is god – the story of the Carlton Blues 2012 Premiership season

28 Apr

So Eddie will crack 150 games this weekend against Greater Western Sydney Giants.
Eddie’s great!

A true champ of the club, does his job of doing spectacular goals most weeks! Keep it up Bettsy!

Carlton Blues Round #5 – Michael Jamison (Number #40)

26 Apr

Michael Jamison is a gun … I’m glad he’s back.

This week we’ll be taking on Freo at Paterson’s stadium … which is reputedly very large for an oval … we need to spread well and run our guts out.

You can go back to the main Carlton page or you can look at the other pics in the series so far (there’ll be one every week) – Mitch Robinson, Brett RattenKade Simpson and Andrew Carrazzo. (I had started drawing Yarran for this week as it would’ve been his 50th … but since he buggered up his toe then I’ll pull back on doing that one).

Next week – Eddie Betts cracks 150 GAMES!!! (And Shaun Hammer cracks half a ton … but I only get one picture a week … that’s the deal!)

Round #4 – Number 44 Andrew Carrazzo

17 Apr

Well here’s an absolute gun! Also – he’s a good Italian boy, which is good for the olds. So far this year – he has shut down Pendlebury (Pies, last week, for which he got best on ground and a medal), Simon Black from Brisbane and completely shut down Trent Cotchin (Tigers) after the first quarter in the first game. This week I can only assume he’s gunna shut down Jobe Watson or someone of his ilk as Carlton take on Essendon at the MCG!!

Carn’ the Blues!
… well the Dons got us on this one … and Carazzo looked good for the first two minutes before he went down with a broken shoulder … dammit!! Hopefully he’s up and about in a few weeks. I’ll update the pic with the scores and other bits and bobs in the next week … Not sure who next week’s player is – if Yarran plays – it’ll be his 50th I believe … but he buggerised his toe in the messy game against the Bombers.

Other pics in the series so far (there’ll be one every week) – Mitch Robinson, Brett Ratten and Kade Simpson
