and … ANOTHER Zine!!

1 Oct

The yellow one is a zine from all my sketches and comics from Nadine and my trip to Western Europe to catch up with family, cruise around paris and Spain and Berlin and dOCUMENTA and whatnot – highly amusing stuff. (Last night I also found two other zines … one from a couple of years ago with a slightly wicked story in it … and another from earlier in 2012 for the IHOS production of Barbarians as part of the 2012 MONA FOMA here in Hobart … I’m drowning in zines right now … I must find a way to get them out to you all.

I have actually a few zines coming up after beavering away for most of the year … you’ll see them spring up here in the not-too-distant future along with more information about the Long Weekend graphic novel and its slow progress to being printed (early March 2013 is the aim).

dOCUMENTA(13) – part two

13 Sep

A couple more sketchy drawings from our time at dOCUMENTA(13) whilst we were gallavanting around Europa – the Moon / Jeon film was a beautiful piece of work!! HOWEVER – the best thing at the whole of dOCUMENTA was that Cardiff/Bures-Miller sound art piece in the Karlsaue

dOCUMENTA (13) – part one

12 Sep

So Nadine and recently got back from the land of overseas … we had a cracking time! One of the highlights was going to dOCUMENTA(13) … I drew stuff from almost every day of the trip and dOCUMENTA was no exception – here’s a couple of things to say.

Paris

7 Sep

So Nadine and I just got home from a smashing month in Europa – woohoo!! Nadine had some nice adventures at Boisbuchet as part of her Arts Tas grant with the Vitra Fellowship go and check out her stuff as she tells it at her blog Nadine did a lot of type hunting … a lot … and she came up with some nice little numbers (and letters).

I filled my entire sketchbook over the month with sketches and comics, which I’m going to turn into a mini travel-comics zine for a bit of fun.

Trent Jansen comes to Hobart

4 Sep

This wanky designer, ex-housemate of mine came to Hobart with his maroon velvet jacket and fancypants concepts!! Ridiculous … but strangely attractive – Trent Jansen – you blow my socks off.

Josh BoOTsMa!!!

30 Aug

Well, alas … the Blues cannot make the finals this year and we have lost our coach Brett Ratten in the process. I drew this pic of young Josh Bootsma some time ago but haven’t had the chance to use it since he hasn’t been selected for a while. Here it is, despite him not playing this week. There’s a few other first gamers tht’ve been red hot crackers this year … i’m looking fotward to seeing Tom Bell smash into the midfield in the future, and I gotta say that i very much enjoyed Levi Casboult’s efforts thus far in his senior career.

Go blues, 2013 will be an exciting year!!!!

Bluebagger Round #22 – Andrew Walker

21 Aug

so Andrew Walker is a gun. So damned athletic … and that’s all i have to say on the matter.

the blues take on the gold coast this weekend … we must win … and then we must win against the saints the following weekend … and win we shall.

Bluebagger Round #21 – Bryce Gibbs

15 Aug

Gibbsy is a bit of a gun, I, amongst many, would like to see him in the midfield one day … but in the meantime – Mr Utility it is!!!

Bluebaggers 2012 – Round 20 – Brock McLean

He’s had a funny old time at Carlton but Brock McLean has made a real go of it … just stay away from Twitter mate.
