I’ve finally gotten the comic reading for Swallows into a rough film.
I stutter a few times in the narration – but I’m not terribly worried about that – I kinda like it!
Enjoy

Joshua ..I came across your Long Weekend in Alice Springs and absolutely absolutely love it !!
I missed you when you were in Melbourne could not come on the day at the Museum but hope I am able to catch up with you sometime in the future I was actually looking for the next event for Societa ISOLE EOLIE and came across you again .I really wanted to ask you as well ,..are you related to the Santospirito family in Melbourne ? Charlie especially and his brother Angelo?.. My father Joe Russo knew their father many years ago … Once again I love your work and I also love writing in a very basic way having my ambition to write about life on the island of Alicudi where my dad comes from , mainly for the younger generation in appreciation of our ancestors from the early 30s until the 50s when many of my family migrated to Melbourne. Once again I loved watching your story observations on life on the long weekend in Alice Springs and would love to hear from you if you had the time to answer my comment
Hi Maree – thanks! Glad you liked The Long Weekend. I am not related to that family of Santospiritos – there is only a couple of families in Australia – I think (not certain) that my great grandfather was the first one to migrate in the 1890’s. The others came later, though not sure in what wave (20’s or 40’s maybe). I might have drawn a picture of your dad recently for the genealogy symposium thingo at the Societa – is he the keynote speaker? Or is that another Joe Russo? If it’s the same one then I did draw a portrait of him just last week. He’ll get a copy of it at the symposium (not sure if that’s supposed to be a secret or not).
My dad will be at the Symposium – I think he’s supposed to be a guest of honour (as I can’t go) or something like that.
