and … ANOTHER Zine!!

1 Oct

The yellow one is a zine from all my sketches and comics from Nadine and my trip to Western Europe to catch up with family, cruise around paris and Spain and Berlin and dOCUMENTA and whatnot – highly amusing stuff. (Last night I also found two other zines … one from a couple of years ago with a slightly wicked story in it … and another from earlier in 2012 for the IHOS production of Barbarians as part of the 2012 MONA FOMA here in Hobart … I’m drowning in zines right now … I must find a way to get them out to you all.

dOCUMENTA (13) – part one

12 Sep

So Nadine and recently got back from the land of overseas … we had a cracking time! One of the highlights was going to dOCUMENTA(13) … I drew stuff from almost every day of the trip and dOCUMENTA was no exception – here’s a couple of things to say.

Cradle Mountain Xmas

1 Jan

Here’s a comic from our trip with the German in-laws to Cradle Mountain in the North of Tasmanien last week. I have been to Cradle a few times but this was the first time I actually saw the mountain (i.e. it wasn’t covered in a blanket of cloud and fog and rain) … in fact, it was stunning … I think I can see now why it was made World Heritage Listed.

Lots of wombats, pademelons, Bennett’s wallabies, possums, we saw a potaroo (never seen one in the wild before) … and tonnes of skinks.

The power of the computer

A quick sketch from the sidelines at my sister’s house … Simon, Emma, Raphael and Jude all captivated by an internet game called THE LIGHT TEMPLE … be warned … addictive!

Trip to Sydney

8 Dec web-kings-cross

Here’s a comic of my day in town in Sydney prior to going to Woolloomoolloo to play a concert at the Silent Hour with Paul Heslin.
I then dropped off all of my gear at the gallery (the General Store) and walked up to Kings Cross main street to draw passers-by for fun … I forgot how many people there are in the world. Sydney is sooooo much more populated than Hobart, these things are strangely easy to forget.

My Niece

29 Oct

Here’s a comic I made with my niece as the main character. She’s a bit of a bookworm.
